Thomas & Judy Heath

Thomas and Judy Heath are an award-winning playwriting team from Charleston, SC. Their first play, The Sunset Years , premiered in 2011 with the Village Repertory Theatre Company and sold out every performance. Their second play, Perfectly Normel People (sic), debuted at the 2012 Piccolo Spoleto Festival, where it broke 30-year-old box office records for a non-musical at the historic 230-seat Footlight Players Theatre. It went on to win the TheaterMania Audience Favorite Award at the 2013 New York International Fringe Festival and received “4STARS” from TimeOut New York. Bedroom Secrets , the couple’s third play, premiered Off-Broadway at FringeNYC 2014 and starred Stephen Wallem of Showtime’s Nurse Jackie . From over 200 productions, the New York Post named it a “Top 5 Show to Catch at the Festival”, and it also earned “4 STARS” from TimeOut New York.

For 2014 and 2015, the Heaths were the Playwrights-in-Residence at Threshold Repertory Theatre, where they developed new work (including their fourth play, Hostage Bride ) and co-founded the Young Playwrights Program. On September 29, 2018, Thomas and Judy will produce a staged reading of their fifth play, a musical comedy, back at Footlight Players. The Heaths are represented by Beacon Artists Agency.
